Shamir renews successful partnership with BWT Alpine F1 Team
Shamir Optical Industry has renewed its agreement with BWT Alpine F1 Team and will continue to be the team’s Optical Performance Partner.
The extended collaboration gives BWT Alpine F1 Team continued access to technology from the global leader in optical lens technology, and marks a continued commitment from both Alpine and Shamir following four years of development success.
BWT Alpine F1 Team already uses several specialised projects and initiatives from the vision performance labs of Shamir, the world’s leading producer of high-performance lenses and part of the EssilorLuxottica Group. Shamir was instrumental in evaluating the team’s needs for advanced visual performance and delivering the most advanced safety equipment and precision lenses for optimum vision.
In 2023, Shamir launched SHAMIR DRIVER INTELLIGENCE™ lenses to improve driving performance and safety by enabling sharp and clear vision with less glare, day and night, and in low light conditions. Providing exceptionally wide and clear visual fields and enhanced colour contrasts, these innovative lenses help drivers adjust to changing light, reduce eye fatigue and improve reaction time, leading to heightened performance on the road. The development process for Driver Intelligence lenses incorporated feedback directly from the BWT Alpine F1 Team.
Shamir and the BWT Alpine F1 Team are now looking forward to continuing their fruitful partnership.
David Gendry, VP, Chief Commercial Officer BWT Alpine F1 Team & VP Communications Alpine brand: “We are thrilled to extend our collaboration with Shamir, a partner that shares our dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology. It is a partnership that sparks our imaginations and inspires creative innovation. “Our mission is to deliver perfect vision under all conditions, to tailor personal vision solutions to our Alpine F1 partners and to enhance the team’s performance and safety in the extremes of F1 competition. “And it’s a two-way street, because data from this team is analysed and added to our data set to develop production lenses, including the Driver Intelligence™ lenses.”
