ACUVUE® OASYS™ for ASTIGMATISM extends its range to benefit more patients!
6th July 2009
Due to the fantastic success of ACUVUE® OASYS™ for ASTIGMATISM, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is pleased to announce that they will be extending the power range this summer, ensuring that even more patients need never miss a moment!
Today the sixth of July will see the launch of brand new additions in all minus powers (plano to -9.00D) in 3 cylinders (0.75D, -1.25D, -1.75D). This will be followed by a -2.25D cylinder in September, giving eye care professionals the opportunity to fit even more astigmatic patients with Johnson & Johnson Vision Care’s newest toric lens, ensuring that they too can enjoy clear, consistent vision and comfort throughout the day.
The new additions to the ACUVUE® OASYS™ for ASTIGMATISM power range follows the range extension for 1•DAY ACUVUE® TruEye™, which also happened at the beginning of July.
David Ruston, Director of Professional Affairs for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in Northern Europe, comments, “We are delighted to be able to extend the power range for ACUVUE® OASYS™ for ASTIGMATISM contact lenses. As astigmatic patients are more concerned with vision quality than spherical patients and are more likely to experience visual problems outside of the consulting room, it is important that they are being considered and provided for. By extending our range we can continue to provide even more astigmatic patients with greater clarity and comfort throughout the day.”
ACUVUE® OASYS™ for ASTIGMATISM combines new generation silicone hydrogel material, patented Accelerated Stabilisation Design (ASD), and unique HYDRACLEAR® Plus technology to provide crisp, clear vision and all-day comfort for astigmatic patients. Unlike traditional ballasted lens designs, ASD harnesses the natural pressures of both lids during blinking to balance the lens in place and quickly realign the lens if it rotates out of position. ACUVUE® OASYS™ for ASTIGMATISM also utilises the exceptionally comfortable silicone hydrogel material, senofilcon A, which makes the lens ultra moist as tears spread more easily and evenly across the surface of the lens compared to traditional hydrogel material. In addition, it is reported that this new lens offers high oxygen transmissibility providing 98% of all oxygen that would be available to the central cornea if no lenses were worn at all and offers a 2 weekly replacement schedule and Class 1 UV protection, the highest UVA and UVB blocking of any soft toric contact lens in today’s market.
